Antonio, an unemployed guy in the depressed post-WWII financial system of Italy, at last unearths a smart job putting up posters, the solely requirement for which is that he must have his own bicycle. When Antonio's bicycle is stolen, he and his son are compelled to walk the streets of Rome in seek of it, or else face ruin.
